Ashley Cox , M.A., LMFT started working with Lighthouse Psychological Services in Spring 2013. She received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in July 2012 from Azusa Pacific University. Since 2011, she has provided child and family therapy, as well as individual counseling, in both clinic and private settings. She is passionate about helping her clients cultivate healthy relational skills, improve boundaries, increase assertive communication, and heal from past trauma in order to experience the best in all relationships.
Ashley has primarily worked with children, teens, and college age clients, and completed the majority of her training at a child and adolescent clinic in San Diego, CA. She has also been a featured guest lecturer with Dr. Daniel Jenkins on adolescent disorders at Point Loma Nazarene University. Ashley works with young people from a compassionate and personable client-centered approach. Based on the needs of the individual client, she will tailor the treatment method but often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Play Therapy techniques to meet the goals of the client and family.
Ashley has also worked with adults, couples and the elderly on issues related to loss, substance abuse, and trauma. She utilizes open communication, empowerment, and empathy to establish trust and foster growth. As a clinician, Ashley will take a client-centered approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to explore the ways in which reducing negative thoughts can promote healing. She would be delighted to join you in your journey toward greater wholeness.
